Problem: saw all the sudden died when trying to warm up and died again when I actually put it in a log. So I looked at the piston and it is scored pretty severely (pictures below), I took the chainsaw to a tech and they said it would be pointless to put a new cylinder in and that I should simply buy a new saw and sell the old one for parts.Based on some older posts (2003) another difference between the 365 and the 365 Special is the carburetor. Supposedly the 365 had a Zamas carb while the 365 Special a Walbro. There are several IPLs for the Spesial on Huskys website. Only one of them (from 2002) says Walbro, the others Zama. Same basic crankcase with minor differences depending on the year they were made. The 630's are closed port cylinders while 90% of the 61's are open ports. 630's are a major plus for making more power 4.3 hp stock.Speed and bling not the focus. Just a saw that works when needed with enough power is. A few saws from Husqvarna fit that scenario, 460 Rancher, 555, 565 are the ones that come to mind. For some reason the Jonsered is only available here in that configuration, while the Husky of course can be had either way.. Gif position
Feb 1, 2017. #1. finally got around to spending a day and a tank of fuel with my "new" 2015 makita 6100P chainsaw. my first impressions are very favorable , the saw is very well made and logically laid out-- starts in one or two pulls , it even started on two pulls after i flooded it. three non "pro" things about this saw as it comes new--.Dec 1, 2008. #12. timberwolf said: Hold on there. I checked the other day and found a online seller with 99 4910 in stock at retail asking prices. Old pic Mitch took when weighed them when came out. Husky 550XP is a good saw but Husqvarna is having issues with supplying parts. Echo makes a good saw as well, believe the 4910 is still available but that saw really needs muffler work to realize it’s full potential. The echos are hard to beat for the price. Not the fastest but dead reliable and easy starting.The saw is very smooth and noticeably lighter and more nimble than my 70 cc saws and cuts through small and medium size wood just as fast. The tree today was an old apple tree with an oblong base of 20 X 22 inches. The saw cut very fast with the full length of the bar, I was very happy. However, this saw does not have the torque of the 70 cc saws.Also I think it works better hooking up to a choker on the log. I have pulled 20' long 24" Douglas Fir logs, 10' long 30" maple and Douglas Fir logs, side hill down hill and on the flat. The newer Lewis winch is lighter weight then the older ones. By far the longest lasting model was the 262xp, made from 1989 to the late 2000s.It's about $9.00 / gal. It works great in moderate temps.
